I’m Sanna, a ceramic artist working from my studio in Warwickshire.
I grew up on the coast of Denmark, close to Copenhagen, surrounded by the sea, stone and weather.
In the late 1990s I studied fashion at Bretton Hall in Yorkshire, graduating through the University of Leeds.
Years later, during the Covid lockdown, a potter’s wheel introduced by my niece brought me back to making with my hands — this time in clay.

What began as exploration gradually developed into the sculptural practice I have today.
My approach is shaped by Scandinavian design, texture and form, and by the quiet beauty found in natural, imperfect surfaces.
My Danish heritage and Scandinavian design tradition continue to influence me — in the restraint, the calm and the respect for natural materials.
Nature, texture and the quiet beauty of imperfection are at the heart of everything I make.

Each piece develops through touch, instinct and time. Explore the collection to see how those ideas take shape in clay.
